Character Attributes and Leveling Up

Matching up purple stars in the puzzle field and completing quests gives you experience. Once you have earned enough, you can go into the Level Up menu to distribute your skill points among your character's attributes.

There are seven attributes: Air Mastery (yellow), Earth Mastery (green), Fire Mastery (red), Water Mastery (blue), Battle, Cunning and Morale.

Increasing a particular Mastery gives you some free mana of that color at the beginning of battle, plus additional mana when you match gems of that particular color. It also increases your chances to get an extra turn or obtaining a Wild Card when matching gems belonging to that Mastery. So, if you raise your Fire Mastery, you will start a battle with some red mana, gain more red mana when matching red gems and have a possibility of getting extra turns or Wild Cards when matching red gems.

Battle is directly related to the amount of damage done when matching skulls. I also increases the chance of getting an extra turn or a Wild Card when matching skulls.

Cunning increases the effect of Wild Cards on Mana Gems, but it also raises the amount of gold and experience gained from defeating enemies. You also have a higher chance of getting an extra turn or Wild Card when matching Gold Coind. Whoever has the highest cunning goes first when beginning a battle.

Morale increases your hero's life points and spell resistance. It also gives you a better chance of getting an extra turn or Wild Card when matching purple stars.

You receive four skill points per level, to distribute among your hero's attributes. Each hero has individual skill costs based on their profession.

The Citadel

You can access the Citadel in Bartonia or in any of the cities that you have already sieged. The Citadel is composed of a series of buildings that need to be purchased first in order for you to take advantage of them.

The Dungeon lets you capture mounts and enemies and hold any creatures you have captured. It costs 250 gold to build and gives you access to he Mage Tower and Stable buildign options.

The Stable lets you train any of your captured mounts. It costs 500 gold to build.

The Mage Tower allows you to learn spells from captured enemies. It costs 400 gold to build.

The Forge lets you use any Runes that you have acquired from Rune Keepers to combine them and forge them into unique items. It costs 600 gold to build and it lets you access the Siege Workshop building menu.

The Siege Workshop allows you to siege other cities citiesCities you have conquered will provid you with a steady income, but you have to go there to collect it personally. It costs 800 gold to build.

The Temple lets you to donate gold in exchange for increased skills and masteries. It costs 1000 gold to build.

The Towers decrease the of a rebellion in sieged cities. They cost 1250 gold to build.

The Vault increases the amount of money that a sieged city pays in tribute to your hero each month. It costs 1500 gold to build.

The Statues grant your hero the title of King or Queen and give a permanent morale increase to your hero. They cost 2500 gold to build.


Research Spells

Capturing creatures allows you to research their spells. Here is a list of spells you can learn. To learn how to capture each creature, refer to the respective chapter of this guide.

Mount Skills

Some of the creatures you capture can be used as mounts, but mounts can only be captured once you have already captured the monster that rides it. Mounts make it moving around the map faster, they add an extra spell to your spell list, as well as a passive permanent skill for as long as you are using that mount. You can train your mount to raise its level, and the higher it gets, the harder it becomes to train it.
